Salon formula app

A formula book for a hair-color studio: every mix — ratio, developer, grams, the bowl on the scale — designed to be captured in under thirty seconds. In TestFlight beta with the salon's owner.
Platform

iOS (TestFlight beta) — phone-native app with cloud sync.

The Client

A hair-color salon. Colorists remix formulas daily and lose them; the owner wanted the ledger on their phone.

Status

The problem.

Hair color is chemistry with a memory problem. A colorist mixes by eye and experience — 1:1.5 ratio, 20 volume, 60 grams — and six weeks later the client asks for “the same thing as last time,” and the answer lives in a notebook nobody can find. The owner wanted that ledger on their phone: capture a mix in under thirty seconds, find it again by name, brand or shade, and never lose it.

The build.

Built for speed. Capture is sliders for ratio and developer volume, short fields for brand, shade and grams, and an optional photo of the bowl on the scale. It is designed so a formula saves in under thirty seconds, which is the only speed that survives a busy salon day.

Built to fit the workflow. The stack stays out of the way — a phone-native app backed by cloud sync, so formulas survive a lost phone. Feedback from the beta drives what ships next; the feedback loop behind that is its own story.
